What I really like about this class is how (relatively) young many of them are and that several are expected to grow. Will be interesting to see how these guys fare 3-4 years from now.

How nice of June Jones to provide some commentary on Jordan Ward!

Just can't get him out of your mind .... LOL
Thanks for the compilation! I need to text the link to an old SMU partner. 2016? Bring it! Can't wait to see the results of Spring ball, 2-a-days, and throwing a few tons of iron around. Oh, and feed the monsters, especially those linemen, and LBs

yeah about 5 of them said they thought they weren't finished growing yet and all of them were already pretty tall

We had a guy that played both LB and TE in the mid-70s. He was too "small" for D1 ..... only about 6' and 180#. He went to Howard Payne, IIRC.
Four years later he was 6' 2" and tipped the scales at 230#. He kept growing!!! He also wasn't drafted, but he still was good enough to make the LA Rams roster for 3 years before heading to the USFL as a starting MLB.

So the reason for these snafus is ... me.
I do make the calls and do the interviews. However, in terms of technological knowledge, SmooPower and Webmaster are Bill Gates and Steve Jobs compared to me. So SmooPower built a great template that lets me load all this stuff into a database, and then through the wizardry that he (and the rest of you who are computer-savvy) understand, it magically appears in these profiles. He changes the look a little from year to year, because he's awesome, but basically it is a database filling in the profiles.
He was nice enough to build this thing years ago when June Jones was the coach. At the time, SMU didn't stream the press conference, so there was a section in which I would type in JJ's comments, and it would show up labeled as JJ's comments about PLAYER X. Once they started streaming the video — which, of course, you should watch on our site, not theirs — we cut out those comments from the coach. But the space still remains in the template for the "SMU interview," and in the case of Sutton and Ward, I put their high school coaches' comments in the wrong section. So that's on me.
The other (2009) also is on me. It's on me to notice details that need to be updated, and I didn't notice that .... for several years, apparently. My humble apologies. I have put in a request to get that fixed, and hopefully will remember to do the same next year.
Thanks for the feedback — we always welcome it — and for reading the Recruiting Roundup. It will be updated as we connect with the people we failed to reach.
