Apologize if I have missed something, but I am curious what his current status is??? And if there
is any recent information about his recruiting.

There's a rumor he may be considering OU. I do not know if that is true.

Just really hope this pandemic makes more guys want to stay close to home to be near and play in front of family and friends

Really need Byrd and Wheaton to stay home and play for SMU after what I watched today vs Texas State. Could be huge difference makers with immediate impact.

We didn't make Wheaton's final cut.

Byrd is making a visit to LSU. We are up against the big guys for him.

No harm in aiming high for guys like this and if it doesn't work out, maybe they come back via the transfer portal

Let’s hope so pb, but the way Sonny works the portal, CP’s point is valid.

I like the idea of adding 2 guys named Savion.
Or at least the 2 that have been mentioned.

I know Savion says that currently four teams are heavily in the hunt. Should it come down to SMU v OU - as the 247 site suggests - I don’t hate that we started 4-0 and are in the top 20 and OU has started 1-2 and now unranked. Other factors are at play. But that does not hurt.
Keep rolling Mustangs!

True. That doesn't hurt at all.

Covid might actually become a recruiting aid with kids from close families maybe wanting to stay closer to home. If SMU can keep winning and get Top 25 attention, Sonny & Coach Samples just might be able to sell higher profile DFW kids to stay home and play in front of family and friends but yes, it's good to see OU struggling so far this season.
