slow day indeed; and as long as we are posting our same old tired themes, let's hope those big men each bring a large contingent of family and friends to fill some of those empty seats at Ford (we know they will be good for concessions).

Good point - hadn't thought of the concessions side of the equation.

Speaking of big men - rivals has a headline today about Marcus Shavers, suggesting he might commit soon. Can we hold out hope that it would be to us? He still lists SMU, but he also has some serious heavyweights on his list (like UT, which is where the story is linked up - so I'm guessing the speculation is that he'll commit to play in Austin. Dammit.)

The recent Rivals reports don't sound too good. Sounds like a heavy tilt towards Arkansas or A&M. I don't think UT has offered yet - there isn't a peep about him on their message board, including the post where they list all their supposed offers.

I'm not holding out a lot of faith on this one, unless his buddy Trey Bryant can't get an offer from one of the big schools (Shavers mentioned he's hoping to be freshman roomates with this guy) or Chris Hall can sell him.
