Despite weighing in at 132 lbs... Guessing real weight is 312.

Former 4-star lineman was recruited to TN (there for 2 years, including redshirt) and started at center for Arkansas last year. Has two years to play on the Hilltop.

Also had offers out of HS from TAMU, Bama, Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, and basically everybody else.

Me likey these SEC OLs!!

Bates comes to the Hilltop from Oklahoma where he started at center at the beginning of last season. He was the only player in the 2023 class to commit to Lincoln Riley before Riley bolted to the West Coast. Former 4-star had offers out of HS from Colorado, Miami, Oregon, USC among others.

You are correct, mrydel. That is what we call, in journalism, a "typo."

The Arkansas roster listed him at 329 — fixed.

I was wondering since we Arkansas people tend to fudge a little when we tell people our weight
