We should be all over this guy

I don't know if he can play at all, but there's a kid in SMU's back yard who has the measurables that every team - especially SMU - needs.

Cordero Moore is a defensive end from Mesquite (Horn HS), Texas who's listed at 6-4, 264 and runs a 4.8. Rivals says he's considering Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech. We need to overwhelm the guy and keep him at home.

Good point. We've added a bunch of Highland Park guys in recent years, and I have all the confidence in the world that Coach Bennett and Coach Tubbs will increase our visibility within DISD. It would be nice to lock down some more guys from the surrounding areas. And this guy sounds like a good one.

A typo, I realize -- but Coffman plays at Duncanville.

Moore is a very interesting player. He has size (I actually have him at 6'3" and 260) and pretty good quickness. You look at him fill out his uniform and you think he's 25-30 years old - he has a strong, mature frame. But he's also pretty raw. As of last season, he could still be driven out of a play by getting him pointed outside and letting his own momentume carry him past the play. If he can harness his agressiveness -- not contain it, just keep it under control and more focused -- he could be tough. He's already shown a lot of promise, but could become very good.
