Well, they had a breakout season last year, and didn't they also lower (or "modify") the academic standards required for admission for their student-athletes? Those two factors will increase their presence in the recruiting scene.

Based on size and speed, the most appealing name on that list is the Gardner kid. There are some small, slow kids on there! Some of them seem to be non-prospects, if those numbers are anywhere near accurate.

Amen - a lot of these guys seem marginal, at best.

that big OLM above David Allison is now reportedly leaning to SMU and will attend the SMU/Tech game this weekend. Claims offers from both Colorado and Syracuse.

Yeah, he said the coaches made a real impression on him at camp.

----------

From insiders:

Allison names current favorite

Humble, Texas proudly boasts two of Texas's finest offensive lineman in Tyler Compton and David Allison this upcoming fall. Allison had already drew in three offers before our conversation, but received his fourth verbally while I was on the phone with me.

"I just got off with the coach from Lousiana-Monroe, and he told me they want to send me an offer," said Allison. "That joins Colorado (1st offer), Syracuse, and SMU as the programs that have offered me. Otherwise, I've gotten a lot of interest from Baylor, and I did so at first from Kansas but they've fallen off a bit. I've been in contact with the Oklahoma State coaches a lot, and Arizona just emerged into this whole race and I like them since they have two players from my high school there."

Still, with the amount of quality programs coming after him, like most Texas kids, Allison favors the in-state school.

"I really like SMU the most right now. I went up to their camp on a Saturday this summer, and all of their coaches came outside and immediately knew who I was and greeted themselves. It was real cool, and I really enjoyed working with them that afternoon. I'm going to be heading to the SMU/Texas Tech game this weekend, actually."

Still, don't expect a decision anytime too soon.

"Right now, I also know that I want to take official visits to both Colorado and Syracuse."

Position: OL
Projected as: OL

Schools of Interest:

Be a part of the Thundering HERD of Big Men at SMU.

Can everyone just imagine BUS's reaction if four of the first five commitments were Southlake Carroll OL Mitch Enright, Allen OL J.D. Walton, Humble OL David Allison and Richardson Berkner DT Trey Bryant? OK, maybe we still have a lot of work to do to get those guys, but you'd never get that smile off BUS's face.

Oh Man would that be a great sign. You never know, Chris Hall may even have second thoughts and try to come to SMU.

Show them my Motto

Chase = Chris Hall?
Doesn't seem likely, but it sure would be nice.

The big guy seems awfully slow for still being sub-three bills. I like the sounds of the 6'2 DB.

Think Insiders might want to look into hiring an editor?

So do I. I read somewhere recently that he really wants to join his teammate (Todd Alexander) at SMU. Anyone know how interested we are in Dixon?
