Private school targets?

A couple of years ago, we signed two guys from Houston (St. Pius X) -- Mike Benson and Jamar Bey. Maybe it's time to pick another private school pair: Rivals says two guys from Dallas Jesuit are interested:
DE Sean Carney (6-2, 233, 4.85) supposedly likes us, along with Baylor, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Stanford, Wyoming and Louisiana-Monroe.
Guard Reggie Stephens (6-2, 300, 5.2) is listing SMU, Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas State, Notre Dame, Texas A&M and Utah.
Isn't Wilton McCray's dad on the staff at Jesuit? Can't hurt.

Carney's measurables sound pretty pedestrian to me. But if that Stephens kid can play, get after him. A 5.2 isn't slow for a 300-pounder. Another thick body on the OL is always welcome. And after signing only Lobo in February, you have think we're going to get 3 or 4, right? (And hopefully at least that many on the DL, too.)

I do not have an exact number but 40% of the recruiting class better be linemen. I am not alking about 220 pound d-ends, we have enough IMO.
Five o-line and four DT's and one D-End stud. We need size, good speed ( Last Year Class ) and depth to improve.

I agree that we need more linemen, but I don't agree that we have enough DEs. How many sacks did we get from the DE spots last year? I would like to see2 or 3 signed this year. Melvin Williams will be a senior this year. Justin Rogers and Charlie Berry are developing players. Jamar Bey and Dominic Pryor are impressive athletes, but unproven (so far). We need more depth, preferably with guys who can challenge early for playing time.

I agree we need an upgrade in talent at just about every offensive and defensive lineman including DE.

The reason I left out DE's ... In the past we just move some larger LB's to that position for extra quickness. Not all but at least its a second source of players at that position.
I am learning about this smaller/ faster defense that SMU or coach Bennett likes.
I think we are SMALL at every position across the D-line. We will see.
It takes time to build something good - Go Mustangs

True, except the DT spot occupied by Brandon Bonds/Desmond Jones. I'm comfortable with their size. But you're right - I'd like to see us get bigger across the board.

That 5.2 in the 40 surprises me - Stephens is really quick for a guy his size. And strong, too. I'd offer him in a minute.
