It was nice to see a one page report on who we are looking at. We have offered some linemen - YEAH.
Is there a list of two star people??? The DT from Berkner needs to think about if he ever wants his family and friend to come watch him play.

If "Buddha" got those names off the same list I saw, then there were no 2-star guys -- just the 3-star guys and a bunch of 1-star guys. Which is a little odd, if you ask me. Zachary Allen is neither exceptionally large or exceptionally quick, yet he rates 3 stars. And there are some guys on the 1-star list who seem to be getting a ton of publicity (an RB named Da'Nerean Pullen or something -- says he's been told OU will offer before the summer's out) who have just one star. Seems to me the star system is a means of selling recruit information. Sure, the true superstars will remain highly rated, but if this Pullen guy suddenly gets offered and commits to OU, watch him jump to at least 3 or 4 stars.

That's to be expected at this early stage in the game. The recruiting services haven't scouted the vast majority of these juniors (and they won't personally scout most of them even when they're seniors), and they're relying on the information they get from the HS coaches, other recruiting services, college scouts and offers. Since the colleges haven't scouted a lot of these kids either (the majority happening during summer camps and their senior year), the ranking system at this point is very piecemeal.

And to some degree, star ratings are affected by the schools those players are considering. It's all about selling subscriptions. That's not to say that Rhett Bomar and Adrian Peterson would have dropped to 1-star last year had they gone to a smaller, lower-profile school, but the fact that OU has 80,000 in the seats every Saturday and an entire state full of football-nutty fans surely didn't hurt their rankings.

Make it 8 SMU recruits getting 3 stars from Insiders.
Deji Karim
Ht: 5-8.5 Wt: 185 40: 4.53
Position: RB
Projected as: RB, CB
Oklahoma City (Putnam City North HS), Oklahoma
Biography:
Recorded 1,254 yards (7.25 per carry) and 20 touchdowns rushing as a junior. Was the sixth-leading rusher in Class 6A in Oklahoma.
Coach's Comments: “We’ve been known to have some great tailbacks here at North,†said PCN coach Bob Wilson. “And Deji is the most versatile back I’ve ever coached. He can do so many different things from different positions. “He just has great skills. And he keeps getting better and better as he gets older.â€
Schools of Interest:
Iowa State, Oklahoma State (camp), SMU, TCU, Tulsa (camp). No offers yet. Medium interest in each.

Glad to see we're going after a higher caliber of athlete, rather than settling for those who come to us. Stay after these guys!
