RIVALS REPORTS THAT CHRIS RECENTLY DE-COMMITTED FROM SMU, AND IS LOOKING AT 4 OR 5 SCHOOLS.

I am not surprised if it is true. SMU did not win a game last year. They have failed to implement policies and procedures that place it on a level playing field with their competition. Further, SMU has failed to gain any verbal / early commitments despite the fact that many of the other Texas schools already have several (including JUCO prospects targeted). Get it? I do, but, unfortunately, many on this board do not and neither does the administration. SMU will never be able to get the top recruits and compete until it makes changes to place it on a level playing field with its competition. It is as simple as that. A few changes do not work when you are still at a disadvantage with your peers. I am one of the few that actually do not care if SMU changes its ways or not. If we do not then we need to drop to Division 1-AA or Division II and focus soley on basketball and academics. Howver, it is painful to watch us get 'waxed' every year simply because SMU fails to change. For instance, with recent changes, SMU now comes to a fight with two hands, instead of with one hand tied behind its back. However, our opponents have knives and guns. The end.

He now has medium interest in Arkansas, Florida, Iowa, KSU, OSU, and Texas. Low interst in SMU. I would say we have lost him. We now have ZERO commitments.

Have to wonder what Zach Hall's and the Chase bros' reaction to this might be. All I read was that these guys were all looking forward to playing together on the collegiate level.
Obviously Chris is highly rated enough that he's going to have lots of options and I imagine there could be some "incentives" offered as well by some of those programs mentioned.
This really makes you appreciate Vincent Chase's commitment to SMU. The recruiting season is long and I'm sure this coaching staff (and Chris' buddies) aren't going to give up on his attending SMU, but this is very disappointing news.

Right - there's no way the Irving Boys give up on him. Remember, Vincent Chase looked around, too, before realizing that SMU was where he needed to go. Hopefully Chris will come to the same conclusion.
