Thanks to all that showed up. This team earned a welcome home.

When we came back from the Holiday Bowl, no one met us. Pretty depressing and very lonely feeling.

The players will remember and cherish those that came out and honored them.

Just reading that made me a little depressed for that team...

I know it's kind of an "apples to oranges" comparison, but maybe the Death Penalty (and years that followed it) taught our fans to be a little more appreciative of a good team...

Thank you for posting this video. Take heart Mustangs--due to you the renewed alumni base has your back! Thanks for a great season!
It makes sense to me.

Proof of what it means when athletics becomes important. This team revived a student body, an alumni base and the city that sits in.

I would like to think that everybody in the SMU community now really "gets it".

And this is only basketball! Can you imagine us coming back from winning the National Championship?!?!
But Now it's Football's turn to step up...Can't wait for a welcome home event for our Football team after a successful New Year's bowl run.

Well, I'm afraid we will all have to wait a bit on that one. But at least the Basketball team can make that wait more enjoyable while we hang more banners in the rafters! :D

Well, as a student back then I can say in our defense it was pre-internet, when the most effective form of instant communication was carrier pigeon and the truth is given it was the holiday season, mine was probably eaten.
