Filmore Selected To USA All-Star Team
Former Mustang to represent America in international competition in China

April 7, 2014

DALLAS (SMU) - Alisha Filmore, a former women's basketball player and 2013 SMU graduate, has been selected to the NetScouts Basketball USA Women's Basketball All-Star Team to compete in China April 20-May 2.

The squad will play nine games during the tour, with competitions in Shenzhen, Guangdong, Nan'an, Fujian Province and Jiangxi Province against national teams from New Zealand, Denmark, China, Australia and Slovenia.

Filmore, a 5-7 guard from Mansfield, Texas, started all 62 games during her final two seasons on the Hilltop, and was an all-conference selection as a senior. She scored 1,061 points during her four-year career, averaging double figures as a junior and a senior. She shot 36.8 percent from 3-point range, including clips of over 40 percent during her sophomore and junior campaigns.

The Mustangs won 20 games during a season twice during her career, advancing to the WNIT both times, and won the 2013 Conference USA regular-season championship.

NetScouts Basketball organizes and coaches All-Star Men's and Women's teams which represent the USA in international basketball competition. This enables highly successful players who have recently completed their eligibility to represent their country, get experience playing international basketball and provide an amazing cultural experience.
