Frischilla - deepest teams in the nation

Postby blackoutpony » Mon May 12, 2014 4:55 pm

Dude loves us.

1. Kentucky
2. Wisconsin
3. Texas
4. North Carolina
5. SMU

SMU returns most of the nucleus that won 23 games in 2013-14 and put the Mustangs back on the national map. In addition, they've added one of the nation's top high school players, point guard Emmanuel Mudiay. And even without the potential availability of Texas Tech transfer Jordan Tolbert, coach Larry Brown has ample ammunition to go far in the 2015 NCAA tournament.

Mudiay will team in the backcourt with All-AAC first-team guard Nic Moore, former McDonald's All-American Keith Frazier and excellent role players Ryan Manuel and Sterling Brown, the brother of NBA player Shannon Brown. Mudiay, who chose hometown SMU over Kentucky, will have the perfect point guard mentor in his Hall of Fame coach.

Forward Markus Kennedy had an outstanding sophomore season en route to All-AAC honors; he transferred to SMU from Villanova and has two years of eligibility left. Former juco All-American Yanick Moreira is coming off an injury-plagued junior season. When healthy, he is an outstanding rebounder and shot-blocker. Plus, senior Cannen Cunningham had some clutch performances in SMU's run to the NIT title game. But the most impressive player up front is sophomore Ben Moore, who has NBA potential.

Nice recap. I agree with him that of anyone on the current team Ben Moore has the most potential. Mudiay I suspect is in a class by himself on that front.

I would REALLY love to get UT in the tournament if we are fortunate enough to make it.
