SterlingHe deserves his own thread. He has been fantastic lately but he has to start shooting more. He's shooting 54% from the field and 44% from behind the arc. His offensive game is so efficient. We need more, Sterling!
SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
2014-15 & 2016-17 AAC Men's Basketball Champs
Re: Sterling
Gotta love those numbers, keep shooting. #Beat Clemson
Re: SterlingDitto- shoot more please. He is so solid on both ends. Now if only Ben Moore could start putting the ball in the hoop. 1-6 from the floor and 3-6 from the line-wow.
Re: Sterlingrebounding, defense, shooting, reverse layups, rebounding...he never takes a play off and has been the best overall player on the team since taking over for Keith - IMO.
Re: SterlingGu had a good game as well. I don't recall any negative plays from him.
Derail the Frogs!
Re: Sterling
Gu did have a good game but only played 6 minutes. Mainly because memphis had to go large because they lost their pg to foul trouble.
Re: Sterlinghe's just a really solid player and plays with a great bball IQ...to think he's only a Soph. He can score when we need him to but he's a very unselfish player who does all the little things to make this team better
Re: Sterling
This
Re: SterlingLove LB, but he was senile for a brief moment when he started Keith over Sterling. Sterling is complete, the definition of team player. That's not a shot at Keith, he's a very slid rotation guy, but Sterling wins, that's what he does
Re: SterlingI'm beginning to think Sterling could grow into a Quinton Ross type player as he gets more experienced. Remember Ross simply was "another guy" his first 2 years playing on a loaded team. He was remarkably polished especially on defense, worked [deleted] both offense and defense but just never asserted himself as the offensive leader until his was a Junior or Senior. Now Sterling will be surrounded by better players than Ross as SMU was declining somewhat but I can see him knocking down more shots and becoming a bigger part of the offense as his confidence improves and he team role develops
Check out the big jump in his FG%, 3 Point % and FT % in comparison to his freshman year-and he wasn't bad last year as a freshman http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... ling-brown "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Sterlingword
Re: SterlingI was trying to think of someone to compare Sterling to.
I think I've come up with Bruce Bowen. Lock down defender, physical. Will never probably create his own shot and be a scorer, but accurate set shooter whom if you leave alone on the wing will bury the three. Long arms and just a pain in the [deleted] to play against on the defensive end. A little more athletic than Bowen was, so a little more upside
Re: Sterling
I'm going to try to forget you made that comparison. Not saying it's wrong, just barf... And hopefully he doesnt try to injure guys by getting underneath them after a shot like Bowen.
