Hopefully I am sitting in The XL this afternoon watching a game being played to decide who "gets" SMU in the conference final on Sunday. If that is the case I will be pulling for UCONN. There is no better story line for us to be involved in on selection Sunday when every single talking head will feel like they have to comment on the remarkable last-ditch attempt being made by the defending champs. Not often can we get that much free publicity. I really don't care how anyone interprets it. Win or lose this is simply a case of " there is no such thing as bad publicity." The downside to this scenario playing out is that I end up having a really tough time finding a good ticket for the finals tomorrow. That's ok. I'll take one for the team.

Boatright isn't going to down without a fight. They are the defending national champs playing in front of their home crowd. Beating UCONN in this tournament will be tough.
Back off Warchild seriously.

That's what makes it such a great story line. And maybe, just maybe if it is an epic, well- played game it benefits the entire AAC.
UCONN today is kind of where we were during our NIT run last year: Mostly young, at home, with something to prove.
Know the feeling?

I hope Tulsa wins today and that would give the AAC 4 teams in the NCAA Tournament.

UConn could win the next 2 and give you the same thing.

I think that Temple, Tulsa and UConn know that they have to win out to move on. That's why all three are very dangerous right now. If we beat Temple, I think they're out, if UConn or Tulsa win the tournament. The NCAA has designated the American a 2/3 bid league in my view. That's the fun of these tournaments. Its a last gasp chance for teams that can make a run and makes March a truly madcap month.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

But UConn will not win the next 2 because hopefully SMU will win the conference tournament.

According to most Temple is in so we have 3 right now. The blowout win over Kansas helped them a lot. Tulsa win today and they are in according to Joey Brackets. And the NCAA does not design any league to have a certain number of bids. It just depends on how the teams do. If Tulsa had not have those bad out of conference losses they would be solidly in the big dance.

I am just glad Cincinnati is not in the AAC tournament anymore. They are the only team that we do not match up very well against.

Yeah. I would have loved the chance to beat them this season, but it's probably for the best they are out. It took a borderline heroic effort from Connecticut in front of a home crowd to beat that amazing defense.

I know its good for the conference and our piggy bank, but I could care less about who else gets in. Let's just keep winning.
