Very true.

Not just BC. I mentioned the lawsuit. But that was not the determining factor. BC is one vote and unanimity is not required for ACC expansion. Duke and UNC voted against FSU way back when.

There's an excellent basis for comparison when you look at last year's semis, which featured one HOF coach and no teams within 350 miles of Memphis (Louisville, Houston, UConn, Cincinnati). Nevertheless, the box scores for both games showed more than 13,000 attendance and you only have to look at the UConn-Cincinnati pics (neither school within 450 miles) to see that the crowd was vastly superior to what showed up in Hartford for SMU-Temple:
