Scholarships moving forwardSo, all schools get 13 scholarship players each season. We lose nine over the next three years (2016-2019). We only have 11 this year so that knocks two off to make it seven over three years. I'm going to assume (and we all know what happens when you do that) we get one back on the appeal to make it six over three years....
2015-16: 11 (Nic, MK, Jordan, Sterling, Ben, KF, Gu, Semi, Shake, Jarrey, Sed) 2016-17: on current roster - 7 (Sterling, Ben, KF, Gu, Semi, Shake, Jarrey) committed 2 (Wilson, McDowell) I think we add two more out of (Kapita, Froling and Bruno) to get to 11 PG - Shake, Wilson Wing/swingman - KF, Sterling, Jarrey, Gu, Semi, McDowell PF/post - Ben, TBD, TBD 2017-18: on current roster + 2016 class - 7 (Semi, Shake, Jarrey, Wilson, McDowell, TBD, TBD) Sign 4 in the 2017 class to get to 11 PG - Shake, Wilson, TBD Wing/swingman - Jarrey, Semi, McDowell, TBD, TBD PF/post - TBD, TBD, TBD 2018-19: on current roster + 2016 & 2017 classes - (Shake, Jarrey, Wilson, McDowell, 6 TBD) Sign one to get to 11. PG - Shake, Wilson, TBD Wing/swingman - Jarrey, McDowell, TBD, TBD, TBD PF/post - TBD, TBD, TBD SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

Re: Scholarships moving forwardYeah, I've heard that and I've heard he still wants to stay in the 2016 class. Regardless I'm told he's still a 2016 option so I listed him. My guess is there's another 2016 big option not being discussed.

Re: Scholarships moving forward
Ive wondered the same from Brown's comments in that interview
Re: Scholarships moving forwardI think I'm in the minority, but I think Gu still has a future here. He had a bad year, but he's a big body who has shown he can score. Thick guards are good. 2014 has to have been an anomaly.

Re: Scholarships moving forwardDon't forget future attrition out. We are at the level where we will get kids here who are really good and may not be happy with their minutes, may get homesick or struggle with school, or may not turn out to be all we hoped and are "run out". I'm not saying this is bad - it just happens. People transfer for all sorts of reasons. This team was built on transfers with Shawn, Nick, Nic, Markus, Semi. Every one left their old school for different reasons. We lost Jalen Jones to A&M, who's doing ok there, but they lost ARob and now Elijah. It's just part of the game. Also, it's not 2 a year, we could load up one year and not take any the next.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Re: Scholarships moving forwardQuestion. We have limited scholarships to give. If someone leaves like Sed, do we get to replace without using one of our limited available scholarships?
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Scholarships moving forwardthat's what I'm wondering
Note Basketball has no Annual limit like 25 man limit in Football Basketball has a roster limit like 85 man roster limit in Football I know you can add players in Football even though you were at 85 during fall-why can't you do the same in Basketball and stay under the 10-11 SMU is allotting to Basketball this year. Barfield won't be there in Spring "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Scholarships moving forwardPart of my Christmas wish list is that SMU gets 2 quality bigs for the 2016 class that have no problem staying eligible.

Re: Scholarships moving forward
Congrats, you get Markus ... A guy who probably won't go to class at all once the season ends.
Re: Scholarships moving forward
I was talking about for the 2016 class. I would imagine if MK did not go to class once the season is over then SMU would be subject to or very close to getting with an postseason APR ban for next year. #HammerDown
