Senior Appreciation Day

Postby smusic 00 » Thu Mar 03, 2016 12:36 am

Can we just make this day Nic Moore and Markus Kennedy and Jordan Tolbert appreciation day in Dallas?

I have never been more emotionally invested in a group of seniors than these guys. They have impacted the university in ways we will appreciate for years to come. Can you believe it? We are the talk of the town and are building a legacy of winning and national prominence. These are the days, my friends. And these are the days my friends.

I'm gutted that I will be at 35000 feet over the North Atlantic while this game happens. Nic Moore has become one of my favorite sportsmen ever. He has been a joy to watch

I'm taking a normal 2.5 day business trip and cramming it into one. Leave here in a few and land at 6:15. Seems like just yesterday we were gutted in Lville. And just yesterday we were watching Nics dagger vs Cal. And just yesterday we were hearing about Nic and MK as redshirts and how good they would be.

I love these guys. Nic is very special. I was going to make this game but unfortunately cannot. Wish them all well on my behalf.

Kills me I have to miss tonight. If anyone can film any part of the senior activities and pregame and then post, it would be enormously appreciated.

I hope the recognition ceremony will be available. Although I will be at the game, I know others who won't and would appreciate getting to see what won't be on the telecast.

So much to say, no way of wording it succinctly. These are the MEN who had the sack to choose LB and by proxy, us. The amount of enjoyment and satisfaction they've brought to me and my family, is a very real thing. Yes, they've built a program, changed a culture, won a ton of games etc. That's all great, but mostly they changed the fortunes of a bunch of starving sports fans, many who've never seen their school win anything, ever. I've had the opportunity to experience powerhouse hoops, coached by a legendary basketball figure, w/these great players, all while high fiving my kids and creating memories like my Dad and I shared around his Terps. I'm pretty damn grateful for it all.

This is definitely an ending of sorts, but it's also a new beginning. I hope these kids understand what they've meant and they always have a home here. They are family and need to be treated the way they've treated all of ours, these past few years.

Tough to say it any better than that.

Nailed it Hoop.

Cant really add much to that, except this has been such a fun ride and I think we have a lot more ahead of us then behind us. These guys have reminded us how much fun sports can be. We had forgotten that at SMU - and now who knows where we might go.

Also thanks to David Miller - who made this all happen by showing unbelievable loyalty to SMU, and putting his money where his heart is.
