Nic Moore Named To Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 Accolade Is College Basketball's Most Prestigious Honor Nic Moore SMUMUSTANGS.COM Nic Moore SMUMUSTANGS.COM Feb. 10, 2016 LOS ANGELES (SMU) – SMU senior Nic Moore was named to the John R. Wooden Award Late Season Top 20, the Los Angeles Athletic Club announced Wednesday. The accolade is college basketball’s most prestigious honor for the top player in the country. Moore, the reigning American Athletic Conference Player of the Year is also one of ten finalists for the Bob Cousy Award. He was named to the Naismith Trophy Watch List, the Oscar Robertson Trophy Watch List and is a Senior CLASS Award Candidate. This season, Moore has led No. 16 SMU to a 20-2 record. The Mustangs’ 9-2 record in The American gives them a one-game lead entering tonight’s game against Tulsa. SMU’s 18-0 start was the best in program history as the Mustangs were the last unbeaten team in Division I men’s basketball this season. Moore leads SMU in scoring (15.8 points per game, 4th AAC), assists (5.0, 1st AAC) and steals (1.3, 4th AAC) while shooting 40.4 percent from 3-point range (6th AAC) and posting a 2.6 assist-to-turnover ratio (2nd AAC). He also leads SMU in 3-pointers per game (2.6, 2nd AAC) and free throw percentage (83.1 percent, 5th AAC). Last year, after leading the Mustangs to a 27-7 record and an AAC regular season and tournament title, Moore was named the AAC Player of the Year and was a unanimous All-AAC first team selection and earned District 25 first-team honors from the NABC. Moore was also selected Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention after recording team bests in scoring (14.5), assists (5.1) and steals (1.3) and leading the conference in free-throw percentage (.875) and three-point percentage (.416). SMU made its first appearance in the NCAA tournament since 1993. The Mustangs host Tulsa tonight at 8 p.m. CT on CBS Sports Network. Re: Nic Moore in Wooden Award final 20Online voting is a joke. Kinda like online classes. $ bait
Nic should be top 5 at the least.
Re: Nic Moore in Wooden Award final 20Well if the award is based on online voting, it's not prestigious, but more of a joke.
