Eddie P, I want to make sure I understand you correctly, rush should not be interupted for a basketball game? That's the biggest load I have heard in my life!

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

abezontar, Eddie P is absolutely correct. You forget that members of the Greek system are obligated to go to rush. They have all made a commitment to their organizations and are fufilling it. Them skipping rush to go to a RECREATIONAL sporting event would be no different than an SMU basketball player skipping a game to participate in rush or you skipping work to go to a SMU basketball game.

Except athletic scholarships pay athletes' tuitions and jobs pay our bills. I don't see the parallel.

I agree they should not skip rush for a bball game - rush should be scheduled such that there is no rush going on during the bball game.

PonyPride have you ever heard of a walk on athlete? They get paid nothing. Bottom line is that a person has a certain responsibility to fufill any commitment that they make to an organization.

Rush is an anual event that happens the same week every year. It is a commitment you make to the organization or "team" you are a part of. If you cannot see the parallel simply because they are not paid for it, then you are completely ignorant and thick headed.
