Maybe we will get to face him again if we add UCLA to our non-conference schedule.

Win for UCLA, loss for AAC and Cincy. I think its important to keep the top teams in our conference near the top in order to build a "brand". If Cincy drops to the mid level or bottom, what does that say about the conference that SMU, UConn and CINCY are no longer the strength. Yes I welcome UH and UCF, but neither has been relevant until the last year or two.

I’ll miss Cronin. He was always complimentary of SMU.
Long live Inez Perez!

Agree- plus he was a really good coach. Professional and prepared- not quite like what we have to live with here.

REport up here says that uc is hiring the coach from Northern KY University. That is going to be a big change since he likes offence and not so much defense.

Me too. He was a very good coach, and I think, under appreciated in Cincy. I hope they are able to find a good replacement

Look for Memphis, USF and WSU to be much improved next season. Houston will be the favorite. UCONN has some real talent coming in as well.

Article up here quoting some former uc players who aren't at all happy about the new hire...they were pushing for Nick Van Exel to be the new coach and they are threatening to not support the new coach. Not sure how serious they are but...

Hmmm. Nick would be very interesting. Sure enjoyed watching him play. When he got dialed in...

Not really SMU related, but NKU picked up the Associate head coach from ut as their new coach. Really nice get for the Norse.
