Who cares about the DMN? Does anyone even read that garbage paper? Do you think recruits pick up the DMN and look for a college to go to? Recruits look for a team that wins, goes to bowl games and NCAA tourneys. Yes the facilities should help, but when you look at the school who did well in this years tourney, they don't have stellar facilities. You will notice most have a big name coach who carries some sort of stigma. This is one solution, PAY SOMEBODY. UCLA was 11-17 2 years ago, they go and hire Ben Howland and 2 years later are in the final four. Now granted this is UCLA, but what keeps up from hiring a name coach for b-ball to bring in top recruits. Give the athletes their own dorm, and eventually when you start winning again, then the funding should be easy for a new stadium.

There is no reason to ask questions why our solutions haven't worked, it has nothing to do with the DMN, or facilities, or student support. The whole arguement is based on us not spending any money and not taking down the academic restrictions. Plain and Simple.

Hey genius, we are running a deficit of $3.5M in the AD. Where is this money going to come from to pay for the *hot* coach? You are right, money and looser academic recruiting restrictions....both of which we are currently lacking.

Hey Geek,

Almost every school in the country runs some sort of athletic deficit. Structure the contract and borrow if you must. That is the only solution.
