Gerald Turner and Rob Evans were Teammates?

Postby Stallion » Fri Apr 07, 2006 10:07 pm

....apparently both played in the Basketball team at Lubbock Christan College. Turner also hired Evans at Mississippi before he went to Arizona St. Evans could be a top candidate.

not only that but Lubbock Christian College now known as Lubbock Christian University was a JUNIOR COLLEGE at the time they went to school there. Our esteemed President is a JUCO. Ladies and Gentleman I rest my case.

Evans would be the best case scenario. By far.

Evans Bio:

Most impressive is the building of the Ole Miss program, sounds very similar to our situation in many ways (yes, I know it is different as well).

Its also important to note, he took the ASU job when they were in trouble and cleaned it up.

very interesting speculation...and not a bad candidate. Wonder if he's in Dallas house hunting?

Sound familiar?

“When he arrived in Oxford in 1992 he found: A team that lingered consistently at the bottom of the Southeastern Conference, a program that drew so poorly that often the traveling party of fans from schools like Kentucky, Arkansas and Mississippi State consistently outdrew the home team, a school whose affinity for the Confederate Battle Flag made it virtually impossible to attract top recruits. The Ole Miss basketball program was viewed as a graveyard for coaches, a program that had no chance for success, even ‘modest’ success.” Evans inherited a basketball program at Ole Miss which had been descibed as hopeless due to a variety of on and off the court

Evans or Buzz Peterson would be an immediate recruiting and coaching upgrade.
