Whoever takes this job next should know that he has no job security.

Anytime you are a coach at SMU, you should feel as if your [deleted] is on the line after every game.

The whole SMU athletic programs just needs to start fresh again with this recent Tubbs firing

I don't think it's fair to say that no replacement coach will have job security. If he runs a squeaky-clean program, wins all his games and fills Moody, of course he'll be safe.
Short of that, NO coach has job security, just like no school has the assurance of knowing their coach won't bolt for a bigger payday elsewhere if he does well. It's a business, unfortunately, not a loyalty contest.
