We got Fall because his best friend and countryman (Diop), girlfriend (Diop's sister), and only relative in the US (Uncle) live in Dallas...Without any proof, I think it also helped that his uncle works for the Mavs and Donnie Nelson is a friend of the program...

Very good points smupony. Those all played a big factor in Bamba choosing SMU I am sure. Another thing is he was not highly recruited coming out of highschool from anything that I have read.
That is where you must give credit to the coaches (Tubbs and Lineburg). They took a chance on a project player who so far has been well well worth it. That was a great pickup and in my opinion the shining moment of Tubbs 2 year tenure as head coach at SMU.
