The reason you were not asked was because Orsini heard you were going to try and sit in his seat.

I guess it's like "I call this meeting to order" - "the new coach will be"...all those in favor?

Only if he's sitting at mid conference table. That's the equivalent of the 50, I guess.

I was glad to see Ira Terrell on the search committee. Don't know the grind HixsontoLevias has, but I have a very different opinion. Ira has given back to SMU. He comes to the games, he is a positive voice. He has been one of the few people close to the SMU program who has worked on the Mustang relationship with the community. I think he has a perspective that is needed on the committee. What impact the committee will have is a fair question, but to have former athletes that care about the program on board is a plus.
How often do the guys who have had a pro career come back and support their college?

Why isn't Craig James on the list? Isn't he a big supporter of the program (sarcasm)?
I miss Troy Matthews.

CardinalPuff..I do NOT have "grind" v. I.T.....I have simply reported a). an observation, and b). feedback from those close to I.T., in a work environment.
Do you not find his Homecoming "sign scratching" behavior odd? childish? self serving? I think it is all that and funny as "heck"...actually, sort of sadly weak.
Those who have worked with him at Dr. Pepper / 7 Up describe him as ill prepared and unorganised...their opinions, not mine, but....
Glad that the "search" group is only a formality, with no real serious work involved...other than that, I.T. was one heck of a bball player!!!

Let's just say that having former basketball players on the search committee is a positive. The relationships and perspective they bring is to the benefit of any candidate and the other members. That the ultimate decision is the responsibility of the athletic director and will accomodate or appease key alums and administrators is reality.
I just view the grind on Ira is irrelevant and mean spirited with no legitimate connection to the committee. I have never heard of Ira minimizing any honor and second hand comments from unknown coworkers is just puny.
Ira has been a true supporter of the program through the years, he gives time to help with the alumni game, was a host of the golf tournament and sought out sponsors, helped bring in community groups. That's the alumni representative I would want to see on the committee.

I am surprised nobody has suggested we put a DISD coach on the committee so we can keep sucking up to those losers for no reason.
