In case you're curious:

A "Hokie" is a term used to refer to a student, fan, or supporter of Virginia Tech University, with the nickname stemming from the school's mascot, the "HokieBird", which is a turkey-like figure; essentially, a "Hokie" is someone who cheers for Virginia Tech.

Loved watching Cross and Boopie waving goodbye to the VT crowd after Cross pulls down that board and is fouled to basically put this game away. Exciting finish in what was yet another "must win" game for our guys

I thought Tech was dead and buried when Cross hit the three that put us up 9 points late but give them credit for fighting back and making it a 2 point game with 15 seconds left. Boopie and Matt were clutch making 4-4 FTs to close it out and I'm sure it was very satisfying for both of them as they waved goodbye to the crowd as they were shuffling out of the arena. Really enjoyed watching these guys adjust their spacing and knock down threes in that second half. The latter part of the 1st half I thought we got away from the offensive flow that is working so well for us. They hit 6-9 threes in the 2nd half and that was huge

Tech was on a 2 game winning streak and has some talent. If everyone stays and they add a big, they could be a force next year and still be a surprise team down the stretch. Certainly no quit in them. Glad to come out with the W. Our center had a bad night missing short shots. Maybe their D caused some shot misses. Even so, we still managed to win. So, two big home games coming up. Let's protect our house, and keep it up.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Not a great defensive game by SMU last night, especially inside and defending the three point line. VT scored way too many points in the paint. Samet did not do a great job of stopping them inside. He also did not handle the double team very well, VT was doubling him every time he got it low and he seemed unprepared for it, even though he should have been anticipating it.

Overall though, loved the gritty win on the road. Two big games coming up in Moody next week that could make or break us.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!
