CARTER
Boys basketball coach joining college ranks
Carter boys basketball coach Rob Wright said he is leaving the school to return to the college ranks. Wright said he has interviewed for several assistant positions, including for a spot on Matt Doherty's SMU staff.

Wright led Carter to the UIL state tournament in 1995 and 2005. He had two tenures at the school, divided by his time as an assistant to Tom Penders at Texas and George Washington

Interesting. On paper, that sounds like a really interesting candidate. Tons of Dallas ties, has recruited for UT .... wonder what his relationship is with the AAU coaches?

Since we are speculating, Wright has worked for Penders before so maybe he is going to Houston and Houston will let Kelvin Lewis out of his new contract to come to SMU where he once played. Just a thought.

Good point, 67. I don't know a thing about either one -- does anyone know if either Wright or Lewis is higher on the coaching totem pole, in terms of reputation, recruiting ability, commitment to success on the floor and in the classroom, etc.?
