I was in attendance and they should do well and seriously compete for the conference title. The freshmen are probably one of if not the best class of freshmen Rhonda has ever had. Delisha Wills, Alice Sevein, Brittany Gilliam and JB Samuels should all get significant minutes. Delisha runs the floor extremely well and finishes great on the break, Alice demonstrated that she was solid down low, Brittany Gilliam is a slasher who is developing a consistent outside game and JB is a legitimate PG who is a bonafide 3-point threat.

Based on returning players like Cobb, Shepard, Gates, Barker and Dodds SMU will be fast and have multiple scoring options. Cobb is one of the fastest players in the country with the ball. Shepard has worked on her game over the summer and is poised to make a serious contribution this year. She always had a mid-range game however she demonstrated that she can knock down the long ball. Gates will be returning soon and should add a lot of athletism. Barker is a big body that has to get more aggressive to fully contribute the way she is capable. Dodds is the real deal. Rhonda has her now facing up and operating in space which now makes her a triple threat player. She can comfortable knock down the 12-18 footer, she can pass and she knows how to put it on the floor and get to the basketball.

Needless to say I was disappointed at the turnout. People get on here and complain about the fan turnout and they are a part of the problem. I really hope that when the season starts that this team will get more support because they will exciting to watch.
