Sorry to disagree with you Friar, but the couch potatoes should have been kicked out of the game long before the 2nd half.

They were obnoxious and possibly drunk. I like our students getting excited and cheering for their team, but these guys were abusive and
actually interfered with the refs and the teams when trying to throw the ball inbounds under the basket on a couple of occasions.

The couch should be moved back away from the court. The refs warned them at least twice and someone from the SMU Athletic Dept. warned them twice. Since the kids didn't do as asked - they were ejected.

Didn't see the interference stuff going on and we obviously can't condone that kind of behavior. That sofa thing is probably better in theory than in actuality.

If you were paying attention, those four 'couch potatoes' were ejected from Moody by the officials with about 5:00 remaining in the game. They were escorted out of Moody by a security guard.

Those 4 kids should be given season passes to that sofa. They were great and the refs deserved every bit of sh*t those kids flicked at them. I think all 3 of those refs rode into town on the Dayton bus. I would love to see 2000 more kids just like those 4 behind both benches every game...........
I respectfully disagree, friarwolf. It's one thing to cheer on your own team from the 'couch potato' section. It's another thing to act like a complete a**. From my vantage point at Moody, those 4 guys were acting like complete a**es and deserved 'the boot'. Cheer on the Mustangs. But don't act like an a** in the process and give visiting fans and teams a poor opinion of the school and its fans especially from the 'couch potato' section where everyone can see you. Those guys were 'in the spotlight'...they knew it and they abused the priviledge. Shame on them.

The sofa idea is a great one as long as people have respect for the privilege they are given to sit there. I am glad they threw the guys out of the game because the last thing I would want to see is our team penalized for the behavior of some fans who overstepped their bounds. I have sat on the couch 4 or 5 times and all were a great experience and a fun opportunity for students to take advantage of.
