We were up by 5 at the half. But the TCU defense really clamped down in the second half. Think we had like 6 points in the first 6 minutes. Very tentative. Lost the last 5 to TCU. Rats!!

Listened on the radio. Sounded like we had poor interior and help side defense -- too many layups. Rhonda said she wasn't happy with the guard play.

But Severin played well in her first start -- something like 13 points.
FTs were really good 21-24 -- last I heard.

Don't forget Sunday 2 p.m. vs. UTA in the 50th anniversary of Moody

We've lost two in a row to drop to 4-2.

It was not pretty. We were up by 10 in the 1st and had many chances to blow it open, but turnovers killed us.

Player of the game was Alice. She looked good and finished with 16 points. Honorable mention goes to Janielle who had a big 1st half with 11 and 13 rebounds for the game.

Highlight of the evening was the great Andrea Cossey in attendance.

You're right...it wasn't pretty. But, it won't be until the coach gets some of the guards under control. Good gosh, it appears to me that it's just dribble down the court and be the first to jack it up. After halftime with TCU's defensive intensity stepping up we didn't make any plays. Too much dribbling, erant passes, and not looking to get the ball inside....to me it looks like there are a few that are only out for themselves. I could have went to the Globetrotters if I wanted to see a dribbling exhibition. Instead of the guards dribbling for 25 of the 30 seconds why not try and pass the ball inside occasionally. The only real post entry passes were from post to post. Our advantage should have been inside. Instead of using our srengths (inside with our pre season All American) some of the guards are being selfish and trying to make an all star play....they are more worried about their stats it seems to me. That's just my take on it. Hope we get the right combination out there soon or this could be a long season.

Just read the game story in the DMN. I didn't realize TCU has beaten SMU five times in a row! What excuse could we possibly have, for being dominated by the frogs in women bb?

There is no excuse for losing to TCU last night. The Dallas Morning News stated that Rompola said the upperclassmen disappeared in the second half. She can say that all she wants to. The fact of the matter is TCU scored 44 points in the paint and SMU had 22. That is ridiculus. Some of our guards did a poor job of getting the ball inside and I can tell you it wasn't just the upperclassmen. Some of the newbies think that showboating is what college ball is all about. The coach needs to get a handle on that or SMU will continue to lose games that they could win. TCU had way more bench points than SMU. Maybe the coach should re-evaluate who comes off the bench.
