Sorry about that guys. Not sure what the marketing dept's rationale was. Maybe they figured enough folks were going to show up to ogle the new scoreboard that they didn't need to offer a special promotion to us.

If it's any consolation, I didn't place my ticket order either (just lazy I guess), so I missed out as well.

Moral of the story: If/when SMU gives PonyFans such a great offer again, jump on it... right away!!

I think the idea was not to get in cheaper, but to bring yourself and 6 of your loudest friends (for the same price) to help fill up Moody.

For the last $1 night, I brought myself, my wife and two fraternity brothers (none of whom had been to a hoops game since college). One of my brothers brought his wife and the other brought his girlfriend -- neither of whom had ever even been inside Moody before.

So then why not "Buy one GA ticket for $7.00 and six more get in for free". Averages a dollar a ticket and inspires you to bring more people.

Texas Tech lowered its ticket prices for 4 games during Bob Knight's run for his career 880th win so that United Spirit Arena would be packed. 4 home games for $8.80 total. Each game was sold out. And this was while the students were on holiday break.
