My son went to CCAM a while back.
Not a flame but a question. Has there ever been a Bball player graduate from CCAM? No that a coach is judged by that. The team has been pretty good. Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"
Actually, I know at least one former player who was a CCAM grad. I'm assuming that there are more. I know that the program doesn't produce NBA talent, so I am assuming that they push academics & graduation harder than programs that send a lot of players to the NBA. But, not being very familiar with the program (other than what I hear on our local news and what I see in the few games I do attend), I can't say how good their grad rate is.
Apparently their search is going pretty good...from the Caller-Times, the local paper:
"Plenty of interest in Isles job Viable candidates to replace Arrow already contacting AD Teter ...Though Teter refused to divulge the names of anyone who contacted him - he said it's too early a stage in the search - he did mention that current Division I head coaches made approaches, as did top assistants at big-name schools. Those ousted from coaching jobs this offseason asked about the opening, as did those who have been away from coaching for longer durations. " also see http://www.kristv.com/Global/story.asp? ... =menu192_4 for a similar story Only name released is Islanders assistant Andy Helton, but there seems to be several more names that they won't release. I would assume Brad Soderburg might be one, as there aren't many jobs for him to go to after St. Louis fired him for not being able to raise enough money for an arena.
Update: The finalists for the A&M CC job include Texas Tech assistant Chris Beard, former Miami coach Perry Clark, Notre Dame assistant Gene Cross and Islanders associate head coach Andy Helton.
He was fired at Miami a few years ago...he's a great recruiter, but he wasn't ACC caliber.
