All 7 Recruits on Campus

Postby The Falcon » Tue Jun 12, 2007 12:51 pm

All 7 of our bball recruits are on campus and working out.

I believe most of them are also enrolled in summer school.

I met a friend from Abilene the other day for lunch, and he can't
say enough good things about what Harp did for Cooper H.S.
He is smart, a very dangerous 3 point shooter, and can take it to
the hole. He said that a couple of NBA scouts had come to Abilene
to see Harp play and spoke well of him. Harp's father is a coach in
Abilene and in addition to being a good player - the word is that he
is a high caliber person.

Good to hear!

Any word from Doh on what he is going to do with this newly available scholarship? Any players still out there worth gambling on juco wise?
Or will hang on to it?

If he's wise, he'll put it in his pocket until next year. One or two might get redshirted, but would we really need 8 true freshmen next year? Also, next year he'll have a huge talent pool to try to recruit from, instead of trying to pick a cherry out of an already diluted pool of whatevers left for this year

I would think he keeps it for next year but we could quite possibly be looking at a solid JUCO player if there are any left that Doherty feels can make an impact with the team. With Dez now gone and Killen being a senior maybe a JUCO pg could be an option for the team. The guy from Odessa and formerly of Cincy, Gist is his last name, is still unsigned and has apparently been on our recruiting radar according to Rivals.
