Greg - it is so good to have you on this forum. We will look forward
to hearing your insights into Mustang Basketball.

We have gained from previous players who has posted on this board
from time to time. I only know about Eric Castro and Erion Harris -
but there may have been others who have not identified themselves.

Enjoyed watching you play when you were a Mustang and I still remember
a Southwest Conference Tournament where you had some of your
best moments.

How do you feel the program is now headed?

You must be referring to the SWC tourney where we beat Houston and I had my ugliest moment of 5 offensive rebounds in one possession. Yes, I missed the four other shots :(

I think the program is moving in the right direction.....its hard when you have a coach for a very short term -- Jimmy Tubbs was an assistant in my era and I loved him, but I wasnt sure what happened to him after that 1-2 year span when he was let go.

I love the Doherty hire -- the talent pool is a bit light now, and due to the fact that we lose Ike and others it might be a lean 2007-2008. We need to be patient and let Doherty prove himself over a 5-7 year stretch. We need Bamba to become an offensive threat. At 7 foot 1 with long arms he could be unstoppable if he gains strength and confidence.

Of course, SMU fans have plenty of experience in waiting!

Doh signed a nice class and is on some pretty good kids in 08. Followed him for a bit at Peach Jam, he definitely makes the circuit, shakes hands etc. Soon, talent won't be the issue, it'll be on Doh's bench coaching.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones
