i agree. His ball handling needs alot of work too. He doesnt need to be ready as a freshman, but I just don't understand why he is on the floor so much. He's not ready. I will say his shot has looked a little better lately. He had no confidence whatsoever at the beginning of the year.

6 assist
1 turn over
8 points
Not a bad line.

Yea, his ball handling is pretty horrid, as well as on ball, man defense. It's clear he can stick an open 3 and is a catch and shoot specialist, but i have no idea how he played PG in AAU for even a game.
That said, I'm encouraged by the freshmen. Walker, Dia & Malone are all solid. I'd actually like to see more Malone. Kid should be logging minutes to prepare for the next few seasons. His fire power is needed offensively.
Is Nyakundi redshirting? What about Bennie Rhodes
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones

nobody seems to know if Nyakundi is even on the team right now. Agree on Malone needing more sustained minutes. Seems like he yo yos in and out of the game alot. Walker might be solid, but I have real concerns about him having true point guard handles and quickness. Isn't an ideal two guard either, so i dont know.

I think Walker is a solid back up PG, but I don't see a true elite PG in the 08 class. Dubois is a combo, pure and simple. I hate giving Ritter minutes wehen we're playing for the future. If we were going to give Ritter serious burn, we might as well gone JUCO and got a real contributor

yep. but at least he battles. Sometimes we are so soft without him, it makes you feel good just to have a guy on the floor standing up for himself in the paint and the red&blue.

Ever talk to him? Or to Coach Doherty about him? His knees are better, but they're an up-and-down issue. There are rumors they'll bother him the rest of his life. You need to quit casting judgements on people without finding out the facts first.

There was a large disparity in rebounding. Was that because UTEP was shooting lights out, and we were not getting any offensive rebounds? In other words were they tougher on the boards than us? Or was it because we were shooting bad and they got a ton of defensive rebounds? Offensive rebounding is tough. But if we were getting beat on defensive rebounds then, we need to toughen up. Because no team should give up many offensive rebounds.

I just love the "did you talk to him" BS argument. Ridiculous. This is a chatboard, not a newspaper. Get over it. If you're offended, get over it.
Your rumors aren't facts. And up-and-down is about as unreliable as anything else. I'm basing my OPINION on watching him in person about 5 times and seeing him on TV two other times, (CU and UTEP). It appears he is moving better.
And if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. He's my favorite player. His consistency and leadership have to be constants for this team.
