Wonder if this is the West Texas JC PG that Doh was recruiting?

Verbal to Tech yesterday.

Why would a JC pg go to TT with the freshman from Plano there?
Why not go to a school that is in desperate need of a pg & playing time is
a lock?

Fort Bend County is located in Sugar Land, a suburb of Houston. So if that profile is correct, I do not think he would qualify as the West Texas JUCO we are looking at.

There is a difference between where you attend HS & where you go to college/JC.

Must have glanced too quickly. So he played highschool ball in Fort Bend and now plays his JUCO ball in West Texas?

If this is the guy we have been so heavily after I would think we may have been listed as one of the schools of interest, but maybe not.

Its hard to say. Sometimes kids go to schools that aren't even listed on Rivals or Scouts as favorites.

There are so many quality JC players in the state it amazes me that we can't land a couple for an immediate impact.

I don't understand the plan of just going with freshman recruits when a couple 2 or 3 JC players like Tray Duty 6'11 @ Tyler JC, Edvinas Ruzgus for Weatherford JC (just dropped 44 pts on Grayson the other night) or Jamel Guyton, another solid PG prospect out in West Texas could turn the program around instantly. The JC prospects are everywhere in TX.
Some of the best basketball in the country is played @ the JC's in this state. Colleges from all around the country come to Texas for the JC talent. Roderick Flemings @ Weatherford (DeSoto HS) , Tyrone Appleton @ Midland are a couple of more I would visit with.

Its time to tap into this goldmine of talent or we can just continue to be a JV team. Its been discussed that we are in the JC market. I think its time to prove it. These kids have proven they have the talent. We don't need to speculate with how these kids will be so much better 2 to 3 years down the road. They are already there.

If someone is enterprising individual who has the time, just check the rosters for the following and see who sounds good:

South Plains College in Levelland
West Texas College (or some such) in Snyder
Howard College in Big Spring
Odessa College
Midland College

...I can't think of many more.

Pretty good info on this site.
It doesn't include the district with the Blinn, San Jac, Tyler, Navarro, Lon Morris etc.

You can find instant impact DI players on just about any of these JC teams. Like I mentioned before, every team in the country comes to Texas to recruit the JC goldmine of talent for immediate results.

You have got to think that obviously Doh is aware of all of the juco schools and talent that are in Texas. So I wonder why he made the decision to not go that route. Were the rules not ammended till June came or what are some reason why he would rather take 7 freshman then look that way.

thoughts?

But with that being said.....when I look at the play of Killen and Ike pre and post Doh, it does get me excited about how he might be able to mold these kids with 4 years.
