9 point lead with two minutes left. Rebound off of a free throw with the lead under 20 seconds. A steal with a lead by two and going to the line with under 10 seconds left. And they lose.
A team with the best record of the season. Only one loss. ONE loss.
Who am I describing? The Mavs? Our beloved Mustangs? The Desperados?
What? MEMPHIS? I guess they belong with us in CUSA after all.

It's really sickening isn't it? CUSA had a chance to REALLY stick it to the big 12 and the rest of the ncaa tonight. At least ut and a&m were victims of CUSA. Too bad we didn't get the trifecta.
I think I hate the big 12 more than my ex-wife, if that's possible.

atleast Tulsa stuck it to the CBI and brought home a College BBall Champioinship to CUSA.
If you cant hit FTs in crunch time, you dont deserve to win.

I thought the same thing - CUSA was THIS CLOSE to sticking it to the Big 12.
Anyone here who has kids whose coaches tell them the value of making free throws needs to keep a tape of this game.

Apathetic, really. But if something bolsters my argument, you can bet I'll run it up the flagpole. You know, throw a bunch of sh*t against the wall and hope some of it will stick.

It reminded me of our Rice FB game, our Tulsa FB game, our Tulane FB game, our Memphis FB game, etc. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

What's funny it was Memphis' best two free throw shooters who choked. Who would have thought that Douglas-Roberts would have missed four free throws down the stretch? That they would get an important offensive bound and instead of trying to throw it up court to bleed a few more seconds off the clock tries to put back up and gets mugged. That Dorsey would foul a guard out in no man's land allowing Kansas to score with the clock stopped. No wonder they folded in OT. Clearly Rose was off his game, D-R was out of gas at the end of regulation. I agree, every coach ought to play the last two minutes of that game to his youth team as a lesson on practicing free throws and playing smart basketball. Kansas missed none in that stretch if I am not mistaken.

Glen, A&M did not lose to a C-USA team this season. The only C-USA team they played was UTEP which they beat at CS. A&M lost to UCLA by 2 since Love (and his uncle Mike) didn't commit a foul the entire tournament.
I turned the game off at halftime last night since I knew Memphis would lose or rather the refs would do their best to give it to Kansas. Kansas is probably the worst team to win the NC that I have ever seen.
Why is Calipari in Memphis? Will another team make a run at him?
