Man, Memphis is going to get some players from TX as long as Josh Pastner is there.

I don't think there's a guy as dialed into the TX bball recruting scene, especially Houston as Pastner.

Not unusual at all for a recruit to follow the guy who recruited him. I'm sure he is a good recruiter but Lute Olson has been the reason most kids have gone there over the years.

Yep, you're right. Sure helps to have a Dad who runs two of the largest NCAA eligible tournaments each year and oh by the way, the most successful select team in Texas over the past decade...........

If I was Dave Maggard I would line up Josh Pastner to take over the Coogs whenever Penders decides to retire.

Arizona staff recruits as a team, so it's tough to gauge how influential Pastner was in scoring recruits. That said he didn't exactly bring the Houston Hoops roster to UA, but that could change at Memphis.

Rumor amongst UA faithful was that Pastner was a sub-par big man coach and was more then a little peaved when the AD named interim head man, Kevin O'neill, the heir apparent. Saw the writing on the wall, when it was always assumed he'd be the next coach of the Wildcats.

I've met Josh a handful of times and his Dad twice. His Dad is shifty, makes Sonny Vaccaro look stand up. Josh is just slick
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

True, but he'd bring at least one or two Houston/TX studs to the Wildcats' roster a year or so when he was there.
