cigar Club by Coach Doh

I created a "Cigar Club" that would meet two times a year bringing people together from the Dallas area that wanted to help our program, network with successful people and most importantly.....have a good time!

I really like some of Doh's ideas. This one reminds me of FOG or Friends of Gary at Maryland. Basically, it's a good ole boys club that gets things done for the program. Its phenomenal, but its also an obstacle for the AD in some ways.
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

Clinton wants Doherty's email address, and wants to know if he can bring a guest.

A Cigar Club never would have been allowed in the post-death penalty era. A group of boosters banding together to "get things done for the program"?

There's a lot of potential there for things to get out of hand, but surely, because we're SMU, it won't. Overall, it's a good sign - things are loosening up. SMU has done much more damage to itself than the actual death penalty restrictions ever did, but it's way past time to put that in the past.

Yeah they could buy burgers for the players or give them a bottle of Wisk.

Or Tide. Or Cheer.

I beleive Cheer is the poison of choice. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
