Really excited about hoops starting tonight, take the mind off of football. I don't expect much from the team this year but at least the Basketball team is a year ahead of the football team on rebuilding.
One guy that I think is overlooked is Malone and I hope he does not get lost in the shuffle for significant minutes. He is very athletic and moves well in the lane and can slice to the hoop, he will need to improve his shooting and limit his turnovers, but I see him as being a break out player for us. He reminds me a lot of Mike Wilson from our last team to go to the NCAA tournament. They both have the ability to get through tight spots and get to the hoop.
Lets have a good year Men!
Beat USF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very excited the b-ball season has arrived. I hope Malone gained a little strength over the summer. Has anyone heard who will start at the point? Or who the starting 5 will be?

Every game is on KAAM 770-AM. Could be Alan Stone doing the game since Rich is going to El Paso. But not sure of that unless Rich is adding frequent flyer miles.

Time to gear it up. This is a huge opportunity and the kids need to perform. USF is w/o their two best players and being young is just an excuse. Play D, board, and take it to them.
Its time to make the next step. Hooray, hoops season!
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones

What else will be cool is when ESPN does that 24 hour of hoops on Tuesday, I think. I am looking forward to that.

I noticed that Malone's weight was listed at 185 lbs last year and this year it is at 202 lbs. Don't know if that is strength or bulk. Either one can't hurt.
