What's wrong w/Alex Malone? I really expected him to be a consistent double digit scorer this year.

Gotta get 2 more this weekend! Go Ponies!

Haynes played sparingly, but looked pretty tough on D. He is a long guy who can guard the 1 pretty well. I was very impressed with Otis. He is a flat out bruiser and when he refines his post moves could be a double double guy. It was good to see us come out in the second half and really put away an inferior HB team. I look forward to us matching up Sunday night with Ill st.

Just back from the game. Nice win, especially remembering last year's opener when we lost to Southern.

Williams and McCoy looked really good. Williams is the real deal, he is a great ball handler and very quick with the ability to score when we need it. SMU shot the 3 ball really well, especially in the second half.

Otis looked good too, he has a big body and is very physical.

I was planning on skipping the game tomorrow to watch Tech and OU but think I will Tivo it now and check out the Ponies again!

Where is our lil HBU poster?

Malone's scoring was a bit off, but he looks like the best leaper on the team, he really skys around the rim. He needs to take the ball to the hoop more and not look to just shoot 3s. We need his athleticism on the court.

Bamba's hook was a bit off, but I can see him having some monster games this year, he just didn't get into the right groove tonight, I think it was just a bad night, he will bounce back.

Papa looked solid, like he can be our "Go To" guy.

Just got back too. Can't really add anymore. Williams, McCoy, and Dia are going to win some games for us this year. Otis is not afraid to get his hands dirty. He has one speed, full speed. I came away very excited for the season. Not world beaters, but enough talent to keep tough games in reach. The best part is the fact that these guys are just begining to feel each other out. They will only get better.

PS - Big shout out to Mike Walker. He subs for the two guards and hit a lot of open shots. Missed a few early, but gathered himself and hit some big ones.

Does this "win" allow me to re-fly my Pony Flag?

No...just another low post guy for the rotation. Depth is a good thing and he should contibute immediately

From what I have heard, Faye can step back and hit shots on the perimeter. If he can in fact hit threes, then it will cause the defender to have to respect his range and hopefully clear up space in the lane for Papa/bamba.

You know I used my car flag for my luggage flag.
I got down to Acapulco and was looking and looking for the peace easy to spot with the smu car flag on the handle… Flag was hanging on the other side and I walked by it three times before I noticed it.

Yikes. I guess my hopes were unfounded. Well, it was a game for about a half, then we reverted to ourselves from the first 2 games of the season. Our stats, outside of the turnovers don't look too bad, but then it seems that you capitalized on all of our TOs.

I obviously did not see the game...any positives for HBU? How did Gordon Watt look? I wonder why we cannot get him more involved.
