What would you do, to prepare the team for this game?

didn't their coach get started at Tulsa a year after Doh?

Good job building their program back up.

Tulsa is to college bball what Miami of Ohio is to football. Buzz Peterson, Nolan Richardson, Bill Self, Tubby Smith..

We should beat them. I'm predicting that we will. We match up very well with TU.

The key matchup is Bamba vs Jordan & also we need to contain Uzoh.
If we can do that & force the rest of their team to have to step up to beat us than I think we have a legit chance of winning.

We should have beat them @ Moody last year & probably would have if Doh calls a timeout @ the end of the game.

Year before Doherty, 2005-2006 was his first season at Tulsa.

I actually recall some sort of interest in Wojcik when we fired Dement. I don't recall if the interest was mutual though. We hired Tubbs. Next season (05-06) Wojcik took over at Tulsa.

I remember his name running around this job before it went to Tubbs. Copeland interviewed him? He was an asst at Michigan State. I think we were also talking to Neal Roberts who is now at St. John's. They were the hot names back then.

But wasn't there a stronger push by the Tubbs supporters to bring him here and Copeland decided to go this route?

I think most on this board wanted Tubbs. I wanted Tubbs. Stellar DFW HS record, great recruiter at SMU, got some seasoning at OU. We didn't know Sampson was slime at the time. Couldn't have predicted burgers & cheer. Just knew DISD coaches said bring us this guy, and after all he'd already brought us Bhop.

At the time, I think I was indifferent to Tubbs' hiring and hoped it would pan out.

And on the subject of the thread, I do think we stand a chance. I'm headed up from Houston to catch the game tomorrow night!
