Well, we had one shot at UAPB and UTSA and by talent alone, those were Ws that we blew them. As for your second question, that's pure speculation and more hypothetical than anything else. You can only evaluate it for what happened. You play the team in front of you and that's all you can do.

I will give you that they appear to be playing somewhat better. But I'm not one to throw parties over the "just good enough to lose it late" discussion. Finish one of these games, and that's when you know your program is starting to turn a corner.

When we played UAPB and UTSA the first time, was the result we got the same as what you thought we would?

No, I thought we would win those games. I do think we have improved a great deal since playing those games though.

My end point is I think the team is much better today than it was earlier in the season. And that since the team loses only 1 rotation player, we very well might continue to improve and be a good squad next year.

I am on board here, this is the point I have been trying to make the last week, but you stated it much better. I think we have gotten better, much better, as the season has gone on. We just hit the deathmarch in our schedule. Still not sure why many here are not cutting some slack that the majority of our players are underclassman. If we were a Junior and Senior heavy team, then I say absolutely this is the coach's fault that we are not winning these.

Next year is make or break for Doherty, I think we have enough young talent and will get an impact player or two like Williams next year, that we should start winning these games.

I agree with MustangIcon that we will be positioned to have our best C-USA finish ever next year and be over .500. If we are not close to that, put me in the "fire doherty" camp. But I think we get it done next year, as much as it will rile some here.

My recommendation is to only play one-half. Hopefully like the first half and not the second. The game was very exciting in the first half, and then the wheels fell off.

Its a shame things have worked out that way, I would have loved to have won a few of those and got out of the cellar. In the first part of the season, the problem was we started so slow, we were out of it by the time we came on in the second half. Need to play that complete game. Have a great chance with Southern Miss on Wednesday, their wheels have totally come off, their coach is even giving bonus money back in an effor to save his job.
