bagice, I understand your frustration but I completely disagree with you here. SMU has a lot of selling points: a name school, in major city with tons of recruiting talent, in a conference with one of the best programs in the country, a beautiful new practice facility and once renovated a great home court. If Doherty was fired, we could still get a good coach in here.....we just need the right people making that decision. There are a lot of good young assistants and lower level coaches out there.

Tulane beat East Carolina by 9 last night and Rice blew So. Miss away 88 - 72, so I think it is safe to say we are now guaranteed last place this year.

I can see us getting to 3 conference wins, anything more will take some upsets..so we are definitely not looking good.

Any win the rest of this season would be considered an upset.

We should be favored or even against Rice being that we are playing at home.

We should be favored against Rice and Southern Miss and can hopefully pull one upset to climb us out of the cellar.

Why are we favored against Southern Miss?

Well, obviously we will have to wait until March 4th rolls around and a lot can happen...I am just going by their conference record of 3-5 and will figure that they will still have a losing conference record when they come to Moody. We should have at least one more conference win and the lines makers seem to really favor the home teams in these types of matchups.

I see it being a tossup at worst and my best guess is that we will be 1-2 point favorites at home against a non dominant team.

/Bump for XTC from other thread....

I was close!
