Ill be there! I love senior night, time to honor Bamba for his four years on the hilltop, wish we coulda done more while he was here, but make no mistake, he logged a ton of minutes and really improved over the years. Gonna miss the big guy.

Thanks for coming to SMU Bamba, you played with heart and class and good luck in the future!

I cant seem to find the thread where bagice and I were discussing who would be favored in this game, so I'm going to put my post in this thread. I'm not sure who Vegas is favoring, but Southern Miss is a very beatable team. They are riddled with injuries, and have little or no depth, and they have gone through a few second half collapses, similar to ours. If we have the lead in the 2nd half, I don think USM can come back, they dont have the depth to make a run late in a game. And, another factor is Bamba, he has had a couple of his best games against USM in the past, and this will be his final home game. I would be surprised if he turned in one of his best performances tonight.

Before conference play began I predicted we'd win three games, Rice and Tulane at home, and one other. Southern Miss should be the "one other". They are struggling badly now, and should be ripe for the upset.

Unfortunately, it wont be enough to get us out of 12th place, since Rice and USM both have 4 wins. SMU would have to beat Houston on the road to create a tie, and I dont see that happening. As things stand right now, we would play UTEP in the first round of the conference tournament.

Won't be at the game tonight but got to see Bamba play Saturday against Tulsa and will see him again this Saturday in Houston. He played a pretty darn good game against Tulsa and I hope he really has a fantastic final home game tonight. I always loved the way a Bamba rejection or flush got the crowd pumped at Moody. I have enjoyed watching Bamba play over the course of his 4 seasons at SMU and wish him nothing but the best.

I also think we have a good chance tonight. The team has really been playing well of late and So Miss doesn't have that star type player that can kill us in a close contest.

Tonight will complete my Lenten commitment of giving up SMU men's basketball. Actually, the commitment started at Thanksgiving after the TCU game.

It was pretty easy to stick with this one.

Still, it would be nice if they could win this and leave everyone with some sense of optimism.

What a mess this year was.

Opened at Even, it is about half and half as of 2:45cst, half the odds sites still have it even, half have SMU as a one point favorite. This morning though, SMU was a 1.5 favorite on them all, so the line has shifted back down to more towards even.

Here is the link:

I bumped the post you were looking for XTC, I was holding that the line would be no worse than even, and SMU would be a 1-2 point favorite.

SMU has done about what you would expect since then, and the wheels have seem to come off of USM.

Jeremy Wise averages 16 points and 5 assists per game, he'll probably be 2nd team all conference.

Talent isnt their weakness, it's depth, after their first 5 they have nobody, literally nobody. and no height. 4 starters are 6'0"-6'3", and the last is 6'8". They play 1 sub who is 6'5", and that's about all they have. They have a 7'1" freshman, but he's injury prone, and hasnt played in their last 3 games.

They've also had problems scoring points at times, they blew a lead at Tulane when they went 5-6 minutes without a basket, similar to you-know-who.
