Gary Flowers, a 6-foot-8, 214-pound forward from Chipola (FL) CC, has signed with Southern Mississippi.

Gary Flowers, a 6-foot-8, 214-pound forward from Chipola (FL) CC, has signed with Southern Mississippi. He averaged 11.8 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game and led the Indians to a third-place finish in the NJCAA Tournament.

Flowers put his name into the 2009 NBA Draft. Flowers spent the 2005-06 season at Genesis One Christian School in Mendenhall and signed with Oklahoma State, but he never played for the Cowboys. Flowers was dismissed from the team in October 2006 for a violation of team rules.

He's the fourth Southern Miss signee this year.

Flower joins Joe Ayarza of Panama City, Panama; Pedro Macias of Sao Paulo, Brazil; and Torye Pelham, who played with Flowers at Chipola.
