NavyRice beat Navy last night, 81-55. Navy is 2-7 and their two wins are against Gettysburg and Washington College. Their losses are to James Madison, Air Force by 40, South Carolina by 33, Belmont (???????) by 17, Ohio by 11, Central Florida by 28, and Rice. This is one of those games that the Ponies should win easily (by 20+) but that is what I thought about App. St.

Re: NavyI don’t believe YOU did your homework. App St. lost 4 starters from last year's team. Yes, we should have beaten them easily at home. Are you saying that we shouldn’t have? I guess you knew more than me and the Vegas experts who had us as 16 pt favorites. :hmm:

Re: NavyWhat Navy lacks in quickness they make up for by being short. Ponies win a laugher, the Mids are really bad. Navy is shooting 42% from the floor, 30% from the arc and 51% from the line. They have one decent guard, a Senior named Kwame something and an OK frosh forward who scored 23 last game.
The only D1 team they can reasonably beat this year is Army, one of the consistenly bad teams in D1. No David Robinsons to worry about with this group. Ponies could easily win by 40. [ 12-28-2003, 08:53 PM: Message edited by: dement fan ] Do you want to step outside and settle this now?
Re: NavyYou can add Mt St Marys to the schools that have beaten Navy at home, 54-53 on 12/27…..they are now ranked #300 in the RPI...they only have one scorer that averages more than 10 points...as a team they average 58 pts a game...ok, so they aren’t very good.
They are probably going to be very similar to San Diego. I believe that Dement will have the guys very focused and won’t allow another letdown. If we have any aspirations of playing in the post season we have to start playing that way, especially against a team like Navy. Win, and win big. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
