After seeing the Cowboys for the fourth time tonight, they might be the best team in the country. They are athletic, well coached (Eddie Sutton is one hell of a coach), efficient shooters, board extremely well, and what a great environment they have at Gallagher Arena. Look out for these guys come tournament time.

BTW, Baylor would have a very solid team this year if they would have kept Lucas (OSU), Roberts (Miss St), and Thomas (UT).

LA, what boggles the mind is that Baylor had those guys last year and they were still pretty awful as a group. Even with a win over the Aggies, I'm shocked that Baylor has 2 Big 12 wins now.

That’s true. Obviously, things were REALLY, REALLY bad there last year and it was affecting everyone on and off the court.

As Dickey V said, Lucas should get consideration for the Big XII POY. Roberts is probably the front runner for SEC POY and Thomas is a major contributor to the Texas attack. Funny how things work out.

It does make our loss look a little less embarrassing. OSU has a great home court advantage though and we got them at OK City instead of Stillwater. I wish the Ponies even had 4000 fans who would attend and be a little loud. The energy sent to the team would probably make 3-4 wins a year difference. I guess we get what we deserve.

anyone who underestimates the negative effect our attendance woes have on our fball & bball programs has never played ball. Yes, I agree that winning will help improve the situation, but the lack of support for SMU athletics is not a post death penalty issue. It's why our former SWC mates abandoned us. Got tired of carrying us...long before the death penalty. Every once in a while, they still throw us a bone and come play us (see TTech) so we can draw our best crowd of the season.

DBB, glad to see you haven't totally abandoned us...hang in there (here) please. I've always enjoyed your posts.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
