SMU women heating up as they enter Conference USA tournament

SMU is one of the hottest teams entering the Conference USA women's tournament even though it limped to the regular-season finish.

The Mustangs (20-9, 10-6) won their last four games to clinch the No. 3 seed. They only had eight healthy players by the final game, though.

SMU faces UAB at 6 p.m. today at Tulsa's Donald W. Reynolds Center. The Mustangs hope to be bolstered by the return of one or more of those injured players.

Coach Rhonda Rompola wants to keep opponents guessing as to which players might be back in the lineup.
