Shouldn't you be mingling with your own kind celebrating some sort of accomplishment? Nice to know that even now you want to spend your time with us.

PS: We do have home & homes scheduled with LSU and Texas Tech.Naturally we prefer to host teams of that caliber when possible, but also see no reason not to play teams in the Metroplex. We've just concluded home-homes with Oklahoma State

SMU only has one semi rival in hoops & thats TCU. UNT & UTA have decent programs & we should play them annually. Decent draw too. Gotta get some more interest in the program & playing locals & the old SWC schools would help.
In addition, travel to 2 or 3 BCS schools per year. Vanderbilt, Arkansas, LSU, UT, T A&M, TT, etc. would be good starts.
I have been [deleted] about the schedule since Doh took over. Its terrible. This year was decent but still too many no names. Hit the road & play some big boys & stay local & play UTA, UNT & the old SWC schools.

I agree, the bigger names will not just excite the crowd, but I would bet get the team more inspired as well. The opportunity for a major upset would get them motived and just maybe if we could win one, turn their attitude around for the rest of the season. This year's team seemed to play its best against the better opponents.

Well, it sounds like the decision has been made and Doh is likely going to get at least 2 more seasons to show if he can turn this thing around. I say that because regardless of what they do next year, he will have another 4-5 ships to give and will be in position to fill that class early, which in my mind prety much guarantees him a 6th year to see what his 3 full classes can do.
As for the non-conference schedule comments, yes, USF and A&M are more talented than we are, but we got them at home, so that should be the equalizer. We can't be afraid to schedule tournament teams or play in tournaments against respectable programs. I do agree with the comments about playing UNT and even UTA along with TCU...instead of the Paul Quinns and Texas States of the world, at least for our "local" games. We should try and schedule at least 2 Big XII opponents every year and add a game against a SEC opponent. I'm OK with maybe 1 SLC team, but maybe it was scheduling that home/home with Texas State that Doh was refering to when he mentioned that tough schedule...ya think?

We should play NTSU over Nobody U.

Doh needs to be immediately tested for drugs after those statements. He is halucinating.

Its UNT nowadays, not NTSU( Im sure you know that, sorry)....but my gosh that Doh quote must have been taken out of context or he was drunk. I also was listening to Norm Hitzges on 1310 the Ticket today and he blasted Doh and the 'difficult' schedule and of course the stupid Doh quote for 15 minutes. He went through the schedule and pointed out 9 should be guaranteed wins and the two Rice wins were against a team that went 8-25 or something, so the win against Memphis was totally discounted as they are nowhere near the team they were in the past. The Houston win was a lucky win as that running game that SMU got into was so contrary to their style. So what SMU accomplish this year anyway?.... other than Doh finally figured out what defense and offense to focus on. Any sympathy votes for Doh are now gone, as we can see now.

Does this schedule show improvement and progress for a program??? Shows me they are stalled out or regressing.

So, with this "very difficult" non conf schedule, we played 2 teams who made the tournament (A&M and UNLV). Granted, both are solid teams, but I don't know if either will make it out of the first weekend. At least CUSA got 2 bids but I don't see Houston or UTEP winning their first-round games either.
